June 13, 2008
Nick was killed while riding his motor bike in a wooded area behind his grandmother’s house. His death was due to neck trauma from driving into a recently placed rope tied across the trail at neck height. The incident was immediately declared “suspicious” by the Wilton Police.

Civil suit filed at Stamford Superior court against a juvenile suspect.
May 2010
Stone Cairn completed at Millstone Farm
June 2010
Police seek grand jury review – Review denied in November 2010.
June 2011
Stand Up for Nick (SUFN) community support group is created.
November 2011
August 2012
A juvenile is arrested in California.
September 2012
Juvenile is extradited from California to Connecticut.
August 2013
Juvenile pleads “The Alvord Plea” in Connecticut Juvenile court in Bridgeport (court documents sealed).
April 17, 2015
As part of the resolution in the civil suit settlement a hearing was held at Stamford Superior Court where a Delinquent admitted under oath that “his action were responsible for Nick’s death”. In an agreement with the delinquent’s attorney previous criminal court documents were made public.
